NYSC Skills programme will reduce youth unemployment – Kukah

Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Mathew Hassan Kukah has lauded the introduction of NYSC ‘s Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development programme saying it will help tackle unemployment in the country.

He noted that the program would help government to actualize its objective of reducing unemployment amongst the Nigerian youth.
Kukah who stated this when he received the Sokoto State NYSC Coordinator, Musa Abubakar in his office, advised Corps members to utilize the opportunity to be self employed.

The Bishop stressed the need for government to give the desired support and encouragement to the programme in view of its significance to the growth of the nation ‘s economy.
He pledged more support to the Scheme in the state.
The NYSC Coordinator commended the Bishop’ s advocacy efforts on national unity and inter faith dialogue as well as in preaching peace and religious tolerance to the youths.
He noted the cordial relationship existing between the Bishop’s office and the scheme in the state.
