They were arraigned on a three-count charge of forgery each of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, and National Youth Service Corps NYSC exemption certificates, among others.

The private prosecutor, Prof. B. C Nwobodo, told the court that the accused had on 2014 and 2015 used the forged certificates to secure a job at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology Teaching Hospital, Park-Lane, Enugu.

Nwobodo stated that the first accused (Nnaemeka Dennis) forged the Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria certificate as well as the NYSC Exemption Certificate, and used same to secure employment in the hospital.
While on the second accused, the prosecutor said he forged the High National Diploma (HND) from the IMT with which he fraudulently used to secure employment in the same hospital.

He further said that the accused perpetuated the crime by forging the NYSC Exemption Certificate and Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria Professional license.

Nwobodo said that the offences committed by the duo contravened the Criminal Code Law of Enugu State, 2004. However, the accused, who were granted bail last month by a former magistrate, Mr Ikechukwu Nwaru that handled the case, pleaded not guilty to the offence when the charge was read to them.

The presiding Magistrate, Mr F. E Chukwu, adjourned the matter to Aug. 30, for hearing. (NAN)
